Why is mindset important in business?
It's so amazing to see how one little thing can lead to the next little thing and isn't that just how God works? Right when we start off saying, “Yes, I'll do this Lord. Yes, I'll take my message and let it impact others.”
We start seeing how that creates ripple effects. Dawnita, a fifth-generation homesteader, has had an awakening and is changing families' lives because she discovered God's plan for her message. So, she has a course, but now she's coaching one-on-one with families to a greater impact at a deeper level.
What is Growth Mindset?
The Lord is now opening up the doors for them to do a live event. This will impact people on an even greater scale and beyond just the families, the businesses, the sponsors, the people who will get involved in providing that opportunity for those people.
The Lord is now opening up the doors for them to do a live event and impact people on an even greater scale and beyond just the families, the businesses, the sponsors, the people who will get involved in providing that opportunity for those people.
Why is this important for success?
When you are willing to make a bigger impact in the world, you can through your courses. Jesus used to do it on a hillside, today we get to do it on the internet. But we're still reaching multitudes for him.
That gift that he's given you is the way that you get to have the trust to be able to speak his grace and his love into their lives. First, though, you need to believe that you can do it. You need to intentionally speak life into your business and accept your true worth. That is why mindset changes everything.
What is the power of mindset?
That is the way that the kingdom grows. I’m just so grateful for each of our students being willing to share their stories with you. It's a blessing for them to be able, to honor Christ with what he's doing through their businesses. We can see the people that they get to serve and empower to make an impact in their worlds.
That is how these ripples just keep going out. But, it all takes that first step of saying yes and stepping out in faith. These course creators aren't any different than you, they just have decided to internalize the Truth of God and walk that out in their lives.
So many followers ask what is a Biblical entrepreneur mindset. Well, you've heard me use the hashtag “Your Message Matters” for a couple of years now, and I hope that you are paying attention because you have been given a message that somebody needs to hear. And it's not just because I say this that you need to pay attention today I want to give you three biblical reasons that your message matters and how that relates to your business.
What does the Bible say about being an entrepreneur?
Jeremiah Chapter 29 verse 11 it's a verse that we hear often when we're talking about goals and aspirations, but it's because there's a huge biblical entrepreneur mindset truth in this verse.
“I know the plans I have for you plans of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end or to give you a hope and a future”
What does it mean when it says I have plans for you? It means just like we find in the Psalms that God knew you as he was forming you in your mother's womb. He already had a plan for you in the whole story of his history. That plan includes how He was going to be using you in this bigger part of his worldwide historical plan. There is a reason you are here. If you're still here that reason still exists. If we still didn't have a job to do we wouldn't still be here. There's someone out there who still needed the message that we have to give. What is your message?
What does God say about business owners?
In Isaiah 42, God shares some additional entrepreneur mindset inspiration.
“I have called you by name I've given you for a light to the Gentiles to open blind eyes to set the prisoners free.”
What is that talking about? Is it talking about that every single person on this planet going into prisons and setting people free? No, it's talking about spiritual freedom. It's talking about you bringing the truth of God's word and what God wants to do in their life to them. So, then spiritual bondage can be broken and you can make a difference. Well, how can I do that? I'm a mechanic. How can I do that? I'm a cookie maker. How can I do that? I plan parties. It doesn't matter what you do. That's just the vehicle that he's given you to be able to speak His truth into their life.
How do I get a biblical entrepreneur mindset?
Now let's look at Ecclesiastes 2:24 to see what the LORD says about work:
There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
He says that it is good for men to eat and drink and to find enjoyment in their work. I've never heard any Biblical teacher talk about that. It is good for us to find enjoyment in our work God says it's good in another in another translation it talks about delighting in your work. He's given us this work to delight. Also, He's given it to us because he knows that something that He created us to enjoy.
How Does this Align with the Bible?
When God created the world, He stood back and said it is good. He enjoyed what he made and I think that He expects us as people created in His image to also enjoy the things that He allows us to make and do in the world. So that's the third reason why your message matters is because God has given it to you as a way for you to enjoy the work that He has put in your hands. This message is so important.
How is your Christian mindset for business? Once you have it in your head and your heart that this is God's business and that you get to manage it and grow it for Him the marketing becomes so much easier because now you're not promoting yourself as much as you're promoting what God wants to do for these other people.
After all, when it's His business, you realize that He chose you or he hired you. He placed you in the position of manager or CEO of this business then it becomes your job to promote this thing. It becomes your job to grow the business for Him. I don't mean like the negative connotation of it's a job I mean, it's your responsibility.
Teachings on Christian Mindset
He has put you in this place. So you're not promoting yourself when you see it as His business, because it's not your business. Then when you see it as God's business it's His business. I get to promote this for Him and what He wants to do in the lives of these other people. That is an amazing thing this is something he's given to us. The business is entrusted to us to manage, to put out into the world. The idea of marketing then, and telling people about what is available to them becomes our job, our responsibility, our highest joy as we serve Him in this business.
That brings total freedom to look at it from this perspective of how God wants to change their lives. You know, it's not about me anymore. I'm just the messenger. I'm the CEO.
What is Christian mindset?
When it comes right down to it, we want to help people. And you know what? It's not a reflection on me if you don't want to work with me to get this transformation. What I care about is you getting the transformation.
Then, I go into the marketing, or when I go into this sales conversation with this idea that God knows, who's going to say, yes, God knows who's going to say no. He trusted me with this process. He trusted me to make this offer to these people, so they can have a life change.
Core Values and Growth
Then it's not about me and my value. If they say yes or no, it's about them saying yes to what is right for them. So, I want them to take that right step whether it is with me or whether it's supposed to be somebody else. That is so freeing because then I don't have to sound salesy. I can go in with that heart of service that says this is not about you saying yes to me.
I don't care if you say yes to me, or not. What I care about is whether you moving forward in your life, is you getting victory over this area, is you being able to get the help that you need to be all that you were created to be so that you can help all those people that God created you to help right.
What Does the Bible Say about Mindset?
He knows what you need. He can give you what you need to do it. So between asking for wisdom in 1st Thessalonians 5 verse 24, “faithful is He that call you that also will do it”. He says, “Ask for wisdom. I'll give it to you.”
Then he says, “I've called you to this I'll do it through you.”
So between those two, when you do your part and you let Him do what He's promised to do through you, this marketing can be done. So then it's alright, asking for wisdom, Lord, show me what I need to do, show me where I need to go to learn this, show me how to get in front of my people.
Building Your Business in Truth
Show me where to find them, Lord, I'm praying right now for those people you're preparing to bring to me so that I can serve them with this transformation. Help them to be ready, help them to you ready to say yes. Help them to be looking for this solution to their problem. Let them know that when they find me that I'm the answer. Lord be preparing their hearts and then I get to ask.
Instead of being scared, I could say, Lord, what's the next thing? What do I do next? How could I learn to do this? Where can I get in front of the right people? How can I grow this thing for your glory?
