Evergreen Adult Education

Do you have an adult education program or course that you want to make evergreen? Today we sit down with Hillary Erikson to discuss how she is helping families with evergreen adult education.

Why Create Adult Education Programs?

I was a labor and delivery nurse since I started in 2001. I just recently left the field. But, I taught prenatal classes for my hospital. I realized they just weren't working for so many patients because they couldn't fit it into their schedule.  So I  felt like more people needed to be able to get the classes.

I already had a blog, I started my website in 2005. So I just started doing more pregnancy content. It was really popular. And then I launched my prenatal class, it started as a book. Then, courses started to be a thing. So I build courses on family organization, parenting, and childbirth.

How to Create a Successful Evergreen Launch

I release a freebie that's associated with it, usually one to two months in advance of the first launch. So each of my courses has a freebie associated with it. Obviously, those continue after the initial launch. My Courses are evergreen, none of them have open-close type scenarios.

Then I mention it to my email list, and I try and prime them. But I've never honestly had the six-figure launch. It is like a slow boat and the boat just keeps going.  It sells pretty well in the first launch, but then it continues to sell, which is what I really want. I want them to be available and for people to take them whenever. So the main thing is getting that freebie in place. Then also because I'm a content creator, I make videos and blog posts that are associated that are easily directed towards the course. Then I just continue that forever.

How to Drive Traffic for Sales

Currently, I am running just a few Pinterest ads, I have not had great luck with Facebook lately. I think it is because Facebook targeting pregnant women might be a little bit off because you have to catch them kind of at the right point. A lot of them probably target people who've already had a baby. So that's difficult. I have had the most luck running directly to the course versus the freebie.
